Breast reconstruction can be done after the removal of the whole breast (mastectomy) or part of the breast (breast-conserving surgery). It often involves several operations to get the best possible results. The number of reconstruction that needs to be done depends on the mastectomy and the width, size, and location of the removed tumor. If you are not satisfied with the results, then you can speak to your plastic surgeon to improvise. The woman can choose from whether using either breast implants or tissue for breast reconstruction. There are different options available for breast reconstruction and so the surgeon will suggest which one is the best for you.
